Runaway

Kanye West - Runaway

Tom Waits' kind reminder: I once heard the word “douchebag” invoked to seal a door to a less-than-preferable plane. I don’t know this West gentleman, but I warn him: there are proper and improper ways of stroking the zeitgeist—it bristles with teeth. Such comfort with the plasticized blockbuster! He’s lounging naked on its contours. I suspect this man has already lost some vital part of his sanity. West: you’ve opened a door that doesn’t close.

Kanye's reply:  DID YOU NOT SEE HOW COLORFUL MY EXPLOSIONS WERE?? I’M LIKE AN AMAZING TECHNICOLOR MICHAEL BAY BUT WITH MAGICAL IMPORTANT LOVE AND NOT PLANET-DESTROYING ROBOTS! I’VE SEEN SOME TOM WAITS MOVIES. THERE ARE NOT EVEN ANY METAPHORS IN THOSE MOVIES FAM!! I HAVEN’T LOST MY MIND IT’S JUST THAT MR. WAITS TRYING TO GRASP MY PASSION AND MY VISION IS LIKE TRYING TO WRAP YOUR ARMS AROUND A GHOST AND IT’S LIKE “YOU CAN’T HUG A GHOST FAM!” EVERYONE KNOWS YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE GHOST AND UNDERSTAND HIS PLIGHT. SOMETIMES WE CAN ALL LEARN THINGS FROM GHOSTS AND I JUST HOPE THAT EVERYONE TREATS MY ART LIKE A GHOST WITH A LOT OF SMART THINGS TO SAY.

- Kanye is so funny, a laughable guy really. -

Unknown Pleasures Resurrected

A Joy Division Celebration with Peter Hook and friends

The year was 1979. A little know band from Manchester, England, was about to deliver an album of moody, melancholic despair, the influence of which can still be felt, heard and seen today. That band was Joy Division and the album was Unknown Pleasures.

To commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Joy Divisions’ seminal debut album Unknown Pleasures, founding member Peter Hook and Friends will perform the album in its entirety in Australia for the first time. The epic show will include live performances of all of the songs from the album including She’s Lost Control, New Dawn Fades and Disorder. Audiences will also be treated to performances of other early Joy Division tracks, as well as the classic non-album singles Transmission and Love Will Tear Us Apart.

I always like Peter Hook more than Bernard Sumner, because Peter Hook loves Joy Division more than New Order, like me. Once you're shadowed by Ian Curtis' darkness, you wouldn't want to get out, at least I wouldn't. But... who's gonna sing it??? Hooky? Anyway I personally think Peter Hook playing the shows is in favour for any Joy Division fans. He doesn't need to, or maybe he'd love to, I don't know. All I know is, I can't miss this chance of a life time, and I got the ticket already.

Farewell, Honeydrips

As a band, what had The Honeydrips give us?
A fantastic album, couple of singles.
And a very funny skit featured in Jens' Mixtape.
I love all of the stuffs Mikael Carlsson has done.
Too bad, that he called an end to The Honeydrips.
So, that's that. But I always love your music.
If you haven't heard of him, check out Here Comes The Future.

Anarchism

above photos happened couple days ago. in canada.
i think this world is mad. everyone is mad.
surely capitalism is sucking our blood, but how could riots help?
i always hate riots, the riot people represent mind-lessness.

this is not the day and age for revolutions, it's way too late.
we are brought up with capitalism, consumerism, and fascism.
the hierarchy is so concrete and unbreakable. why fight?
it's like fighting the darkness itself in the darkness. it's fucking dumb.

everyone is false, everything is false. this world is not for me.
i know i have to go. i know i have leave this crazy world behind. run!

Open your heart kids, for the time flowering is here

Such a lovely video and song! I love it.
Can't wait to hear The Kings of Convenience's new album.

Oasis R.I.P

I feel sorry for Noel Gallagher, and the Oasis.
They were great, really great, but they are out of time.
However Liam is an idiot. Reading NME's 50 Incredulous Liam Gallagher Quotes only proves he really is an idiot. He's far too arrogant, though I agree with him at some point, but he really does not have to act/talk like an idiot. I think I'd quote some of his words, fucking hilarious. He could be a very good comedian, I think.
On ambition: "If I wasn't a musician I don't know. I'd be God, maybe? That would be a good job." (The Sun, 2005).

On being a softie at heart: “I am a tender, beautiful and loving guy that happens to slap a photographer now and then because they get in my way.” (Sky.com, July 2005).

On singing: “I’m a better singer than him [Noel]. I’m the man, man.” (NME, December 2008)

On conquering America: “Americans want grungy people stabbing themselves in the head onstage. They get a bright bunch like us, with deodorant on, they don’t get it.” (NME, November 2006).

On his emotions: “I suppose I do get sad, but not for too long. I just look in the mirror and go, ‘What a good-looking fuck you are.’” (NME, November 2006).

Spreading the love for Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty: “I don’t give a fuck about her, I don’t give a fuck about the other dick and I don’t give a fuck about any of ‘em.” (NME, September 2008).

On Pete Doherty (again): "What does the word Libertine mean? Freedom! He's in the corner doing smack with a helmet on his head. There's nothing free about that. It's nasty." (NME, 2005).

Well, Oasis R.I.P.

Beautiful Noise

Los Angeles-based filmmaker Eric Green has spent the last four years making Beautiful Noise, a forthcoming scene documentary that features interviews with music makers like Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins), Neil Halstead (Slowdive) and Kevin Shields, and fans like Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Wayne Coyne (Flaming Lips) and Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails).

I wish I could watch it now, probably would help my assignment.

indie rock is the new mariah carey

Garden State,Once 和 Juno 也喜歡他們的原聲帶,也非常有可能會喜歡500 Days of Summer。
