A Single Man

Director: Tom Ford
Writers: Tom Ford, David Scearce, Christopher Isherwood (novel)
Cast: Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Matthew Goode
Year: 2009

My Rating: 6/10

Too beautiful, too much cliche in the lines. But I give credit to Colin Firth, his acting is the reason why I finished this movie. By the way, I think this is a perfect film to project on the wall in a museum, or a private party. Cuz, essentially, this film doesn't have much too say. Just full of beautiful people and gay people. If I was a beautiful person, or a gay or into fashion, I would give this film ten out of ten; but I'm none of those people.

My Favourite Comedian

Kaputt

I don't remember when's the last time I heard such a carefree album.
This might be the first one. I don't know, who cares?
I wanna live in this album, and write a clever song for America, who knew?

The Man Who Loved Children

More people should read this book.
This is just a magnificent book, the scope, the details, the characters, the plot, the ending... really, it is a unique book like no others.

If you are going to read this book, don't read any introduction or essays about this book. Just let the book carries you... the book is quite long, and the joy of reading this book is getting to know each characters and the stories of their life through their everyday conversation.

Let's Go Sailing

It was a hot May day. Sun was high. Sea was cold. I was sick.
Why do you travel? I do, so I can sleep in a bed I never sleep before.

Everything's Getting Older

One of the best albums this year.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford

Director: Andrew Dominik
Writers: Andrew Dominik (screenplay), Ron Hansen (novel)
Cast: Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Mary-Louise Parker and Sam Shepard
Year: 2007
IMDB
My Rating: 6/10

Beautifully shot. The movie's focus is not really Jesse James, but the coward, Bob Ford. It's a good way to tell the story, but the tempo of the film is seriously slow. Brad Pitt plays well as Jesse James. I think Brad Pitt might be the only movie star who is versatile but never lose his style.  Nick Dave and Zooey Deschanel's brief appearance were nice surprises. About Jesse James, he is just a legend. But like Oscar Wilde said, "Americans are certainly great hero-worshippers, and always take heroes from the criminal classes."
